Hikari no Yami
"I want to bring tangible form to the philosophical ideas in my head. Hikari no Yami is all about questioning one's philosophy."
Hikari no Yami — "light within darkness" — is an independent house of conceptual garments, fragrance, and objects founded on the belief that duality is the engine of meaning. Each chapter examines a single philosophical tension and translates it into wearable form.
The practice is rooted in Japanese silhouette traditions — hakama, kimono cut, layered drape — translated through the language of contemporary outerwear and the patience of slow construction.
Garments are constructed from Japanese denim, recycled and aged leathers, technical nylons, and hand-finished knits. Most pieces are produced in editions of fewer than fifty.
Fragrance — Hikari and Yami — was developed as a parallel meditation on the same duality: the sweetness of dawn, the resin of night.
Recycled, deadstock, and aged materials wherever possible. Made-to-order programs reduce excess inventory. No seasonal cycle, no markdowns — pieces are valued for as long as they exist.
